Real Daughter Phebe Shattuck Merrill was born 23 Feb 1807 in Andover, Essex County, Massachusetts. She died 24 Oct 1897 and is buried in West Parrish Cemetery in Andover, Massachusetts. Her father was Corporal Joseph Shattuck Jr. Her husband was William Merrill.
She joined the Betsy Ross Chapter NSDAR, Methuen, Massachusetts, on 6 May 1897, at the age of 87. Current Springfield Chapter Second Vice Regent Cherrill Lewis Bethel is a descendant of Phebe Shattuck Merrill.
