Real Daughter Lydia Rollins Wixson was born in Augusta, Maine, on September 1, 1816. The honorary title of  “Real Daughter” is given to those DAR members whose father or mother gave patriotic or military service to the American Revolutionary War effort. There were 770 Real Daughters in DAR chapters all over the United States.

Lydia died May 4, 1918, and is buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Augusta, Maine. Her father was Private John Rollins. Her husband was James Wixson. She joined the Koussinoc Chapter NSDAR, Augusta, Maine, on November 7, 1900, at the age of 84. The Koussinoc Chapter dedicated a Real Daughter marker on September 21, 2008.

Current Springfield Chapter Regent Wauline Quick is a descendant of Lydia Rollins Wixson.
