Chapter Activities

Community is important to Indian River members. We work to be sure the public is aware of the three objects of the Daughters of the American Revolution:  

 

Promotion of Education
Sponsor DAR American History Essay Contest in local schools
Recognize an outstanding graduating Junior ROTC cadet
Support Labels for Education program
Participate in DAR Good Citizenship program in two high schools

 
 

Patriot Endeavor
Participate in the Massing of the Colors
Special luncheon programs with SAR and other patriotic lineage organizations
Support Veterans at the Orlando VA Healthcare Center
Participate in the Stamps for the Wounded Program
Contribute to Titusville's Avenue of Flags and 4th of July fireworks funds

 
 

Historic Preservation
Members index previously unpublished genealogy records for the DAR Library in Washington.
Participate in the Last Navel Battle of the American Revolution annual event.
